WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A GROUP AND A ROOM ?

Room: Represents physical location of the device
 
  • a) Each device can only be added to one room at a time. If a device is added to another room, then it is removed automatically from the previous room.
  • b)  All different types of SMART+ WiFi, Matter, Bluetooth devices can be added in each room.
  • c)  Sends commands one after the other to the devices.
  • d)  Not possible to have advanced features like Mood, Time schedule, Timer etc.
  • e) Cannot be used in Routines and automations as a task.
 
Group: Represents the combination of similar devices irrespective of their physical location
 
  • a) Each device can be added to multiple groups.
  • b) Only similar feature devices can be added in a group.
  • For example, SMART+ WiFi Plugs cannot be grouped with SMART+ WiFi Lighting products.
  • SMART+ WiFi Entertainment products cannot be grouped with basic SMART+ WiFi lighting products. SMART+ Matter products cannot be grouped with SMART+ WiFi products and SMART+ Bluetooth products.
  • c) SMART+ WiFi Camera and SMART+ WiFi Sensor products cannot be added to groups.
  • d) Sends a broadcast command which is activated by the devices parallelly.
  • e) Advanced features like Mood, Time schedule, Timer, Biological rhythm, music, fixed time cycle, random time cycle etc are supported.
  • f) Can be used in Routines and automations as a task.
