“Linear fluorescent lamp" means a low-pressure, mercury-containing, electric-discharge light source in which a fluorescent coating transforms some of the ultraviolet energy generated by the mercury discharge into visible light, and includes all of the following characteristics:
- Two bases (end caps) of any type, including, but not limited to, single-pin, two-pin, and recessed double contact.
- Light emission between a correlated color temperature of 1700K and 24000K and a Duv of +0.024 and -0.024 in the CIE CAM02-UCS.
- All tube diameters, including, but not limited to, T5, T8, T10, and T12.
- All tube lengths from 0.5 to 8.0 feet, inclusive.
- All lamp shapes, including, but not limited to, linear, U-bend, and circular.
Colorado
"Linear fluorescent lamp" means a low-pressure, mercury-containing, electric-discharge light source in which a fluorescent coating transforms some of the ultraviolet energy generated by the mercury discharge into visible light; and that:
- includes two bases or end caps of any type, including single-pin, two-pin, or recessed double contact;
- emits light between a correlated color temperature of 1700 kelvin and 24000 kelvin and a duv of +0.024 and -0.024 in the page 28-house bill 23-1161 ciecam02-ucs;
- includes all tube diameters, including t5, t8, t10, and t12 tubes; and
- includes all tube lengths from six inches to eight feet.
- "Linear fluorescent lamp" includes lamps of all shapes, including linear, u-bend, and circular.
Hawaii
“Linear fluorescent lamp" means a low-pressure, mercury-containing, electric-discharge light source in which a fluorescent coating transforms some of the ultraviolet energy generated by the mercury discharge into visible light, and includes all of the following characteristics:
- Two bases (end caps) of any type, including but not 18 limited to single-pin, two-pin, and recessed double contact;
- Light emission between a correlated color temperature of one thousand seven hundred Kelvin and twenty-four thousand Kelvin and a Duv of +0.024 and -0.024 in the International Commission on Illumination Uniform Color Space;
- All tube diameters, including but not limited to T5, 5 T8, Tl0, and T12;
- All tube lengths from 0.5 to eight feet, inclusive;
- All lamp shapes, including but not limited to linear, U-bend, and circular.
Maine
"Linear fluorescent mercury-added lamp" means a low-pressure, mercury-containing,
electric-discharge light source, regardless of the tube diameter and the shape of the lamp, in which a fluorescent coating transforms a portion of the ultraviolet energy generated by the mercury discharge into visible light and that:
- Has 2 bases or end caps of any type, including, but not limited to, a one-pin or 2-pin base type and a recessed double contact base type;
- Provides a light emission between a correlated color temperature of 1,700K and 24,000K and a Duv of +0.024 and -0.024 in the International Commission on Illumination (CIE) Uniform Color Space (CAM02-UCS); and
- Has a tube length of 0.5 feet to 8 feet.

Defaults to the following California definition

- All tube diameters, including, but not limited to, T5, T8, T10, and T12;
- All tube lengths from one-half (1/2) to eight (8.0) feet inclusive; and
- All lamp shapes, including, but not limited to, linear, U-bend, and circular.
Vermont
“Four-foot linear fluorescent lamp" means a general purpose, low-pressure, mercury-containing, electric-discharge light source in which a fluorescing coating transforms some of the ultraviolet energy generated by the mercury discharge into visible light, and includes all of the following characteristics:
- two bases or endcaps of any type, including single-pin, two-pin, or recessed double contact;
- light emission between a correlated color temperature of 1700K and 24000K and a Duv of +0.024 and –0.024 in the International Commission on Illumination (CIE) Uniform Color Space (CAM02-UCS);
- all tube diameters, including T2, T5, T8, T10, and T12; and
- four feet in length.
Washington State
"Linear fluorescent lamp" means a low-pressure, mercury containing, electric-discharge light source in which a fluorescent coating transforms some of the ultraviolet energy generated by the mercury discharge into visible light, and includes all of the following characteristics:
- Two bases (end caps) of any type including, but not limited to, single-pin, two-pin, and recessed double contact;
- Light emission between a correlated color temperature of 1700K and 24000K and a Duv of +0.024 and -0.024 in the CIE CAM02-UCS;
- All tube diameters including, but not limited to, T5, T8, T10, and T12;
