● Size

The distance between bases is typically around 60 feet for little league and at least 90 feet for high school games. ●Light Pole Height

Four light poles are needed in high school, college, and minor league games. Two are placed on the sides of the home plate, and the other two are behind the left-center field and the right-center field. These poles are usually between 40 and 50 feet tall.

Two additional poles are required in the outfield for competitive games and larger baseball fields. This pole arrangement is designed to guarantee light uniformity and better visibility on the field and in TV broadcasts. ●Light Pole Position

All light poles must be installed outside the foul lines on both sides of the field. The areas directly behind the home plate (backstop area) and the centerfield 'batter’s eye' are absolute no-go zones. Installing light poles in these locations would cause blinding glare to shine directly into the players' eyes, especially affecting the batter, pitcher, and catcher.

● Glare Control and Fixture Aiming Requirements

To prevent lights from shining directly into players' eyes (especially when outfielders track high fly balls or batters follow pitches), there are strict restrictions on the angle between the lights and the center line or baseline of the court.

Viewed from the center line of the field, the angle between the lighting fixtures and the horizontal plane should not be less than 25°, and ideally should be between 30° and 45°.
