The world’s largest graffiti panel, a mural created by artist Eduardo Kobra on the façade of the Complexo Intensidade - Cacau Show in Itapevi, São Paulo, has just become even more impressive: One hundred luminaires using LED technology developed by LEDVANCE have been installed to light up the 5742 square meters the artwork spans.
“This panel has always caught the attention of passersby during the day, but couldn’t ever be seen at night until now. With the lighting we installed, the full quality of the art can be appreciated at any time of day,” says Pedro Sega, product manager at LEDVANCE for Latin America.
Rafael Serradura, the lighting designer responsible for the project, explains that to ensure the mural makes an impact on people even at night, LED solutions were chosen with an integrated driver from the LEDVANCE Floodlight range. “These luminaires have a high luminous flux and are extremely resistant, with IP 65 protection against the ingress of water and dust. What’s more, they have 100W of power, warm white color temperature (3000 K), luminous flux of up to 100 lumens per watt and tempered opaque glass, which is impact-resistant and prevents glare.”
“Lighting a mural such as this that was created by an artist as famous as Kobra shows the prestige our company has achieved in the market. Our portfolio contains some extremely high-quality items designed for both residential and professional lighting,” adds Sega. Besides the mural in Itapevi, LEDVANCE also supplies its products for various public spaces, such as the green corridor on the Avenida 23 de Maio and the façade of the Morumbi Shopping, both in the city of São Paulo.
