GLOWdim: warmer and more comfortable LED color temperature by dimming to 2,000 Kelvin

Particularly cozy, warm white light can be achieved with incandescent and halogen lamps already by simply dimming to a warmer light color. With the GLOWdim technology from OSRAM you can use the popular warm white light color also excellent with

modern efficient LED lamps. The cutting edge LED technology is integrated into the new product series "GLOWdim". Here different LEDs with different color temperatures are used of which the light is mixed, depending on the dimmer position.

GLOWdim products

Undimmed they shine in warm white (2,700 kelvin). To achieve the GLOWdim effect, they can be dimmed continuously down to extra warm white (2,000 kelvin). A special feature here is that the color rendering index (Ra, CRI) is even higher than 80 also with this low color temperature.

Comprehensive GLOWdim assortment

With the launch of its GLOWdim technology OSRAM already offers a comprehensive assortment for applications in the private sector as well as in hotels and restaurants. It consists of a Classic A (E27 base, frosted), Classic B (E14 base, frosted), a PAR 16 spot as a 48 watt replacement (GU10 base) and a MR 16 spot as a 33-watt replacement (GU5.3 base). It thus ensures an easy replacement of lamps in the most common applications and combinations.

Dimmer compatibility

Even in case of dimmer compatibility OSRAM takes care on the broadest combinations possible. All GLOWdim lamps are designed and tested for use with the most common leading-edge, trailing edge phase, universal and even DALI dimmers. Thus they provide a significantly higher dimmability than comparable competitive products. Detailed compatibility lists can be found on the right side.

Substantial energy savings with GLOWdim

Compared to equivalent incandescent or halogen lamps GLOWdim lamps save up to 90 % power and thus belong to the energy efficiency class A +. With up to 25,000 hours lifetime and 5 years OSRAM guarantee energy and maintenance costs can be reduced significantly.
