The hockey club HC Oceláři Třinec is a 6-time champion of the Czech Hockey Extraliga and in 2024 it also became the best European team according to E.H.C. Alliance. WERK ARENA in cooperation with LEDVANCE modernized the lighting of the home stadium of HC Oceláři Třinec to meet the high requirements for television broadcasts of hockey matches. The new system with HIGH BAY LED luminaires ensures optimal visibility of the playing area, significantly reduces energy consumption and allows flexible adjustment of the lighting intensity. This collaboration not only delivers superior light quality, but also greater energy efficiency and sustainability.
The WERK ARENA has long struggled with insufficient lighting of the playing area by tube lights, which negatively affected the television broadcasts and the overall quality of the visual experience. The goal of the upgrade was to achieve a minimum of 1000 lx vertically in the cone area, which represents the players moving on the ice.
LEDVANCE has designed and implemented new lighting using LEDVANCE HIGH BAY DALI 190 W 4000 K luminaires with a beam angle of 70%. These luminaires provide a luminous flux of up to 30,000 lm, are equipped with a DALI 2.0 interface for dimming and enable sensor control. The low-mix lights provide consistent illumination to meet the demanding requirements of television broadcasts.
