Before pairing the SMART+ WiFi Thermostat Gen2 into the app you need to follow the Initialization Steps from the User Manual. The Thermostat Gen2 has model number AD08925xxxx engraved on the backside.
Remove the old thermostat and make the thermostat valve ready for the fixation and install the adapter if needed. In the next step insert three AA-batteries into the Thermostat. The Thermostat will move into the installation mode with flashing “i n” and you can mount the thermostat on the valve, if “i n” stopped flashing. After the mounting is completed press shortly on the knob of the thermostat and “Ad” will flash on the display. During this time the calibration of the Thermostat on the valve will be done. After successful calibration the temperature will be shown.
To set the SMART+ WiFi Thermostat Gen2 into pairing mode you need to turn the knob to the left to lower the temperature until turning it off, which is indicated by “OF” on the display. Now press on the knob for over 1.5 seconds until on the display two dashes appear and the pairing indicator on top is flashing.
There are two possible options to pair the SMART+ WiFi Thermostat Gen2 into the SMART+ app:
a) Auto scan mode
To connect the WiFi Thermostat, tap “+” button on the home screen page where you want to add the device, and then select “Add device”. The automatically search will start and show the available products for pairing on the screen.
You can select and add the devices shown individually by tapping the “Add” button. Alternatively, for complete integration, you can also select the “Add all” button shown at the top of the list. In the next screen, select the WiFi router with 2.4 GHz network and enter the corresponding password with which you want to connect your devices.
If you have multiple Wi-Fi routers at your home, then you can select the WiFi from “Change WiFi network” as well. After a device is added successfully, then a message will be displayed that “The device is successfully added”.
b) Manual adding mode
If you cannot find the desired device with above mentioned steps, then you can also add the device manually with “Setup guide” button mentioned at the bottom of the screen.
To do this, set the Thermostat to pairing mode if it has not already been set. Now select the device category tab “WiFi”. Then select the category “Radiator Thermostat” and then Gen 2. After confirming the WiFi credentials, you are now requested to connect the smartphone to the hotspot (LDV SMART+-xxxx) provided by the Thermostat.
After tapping on "Connect with hotspot", the WiFi of the smartphone must be connected to the hotspot (LDV SMART+-xxxx) of the Thermostat via the WiFi settings of the smartphone, you need to confirm with the “yes” button that the connection was successful.
In the next step, a search will be carried out for that device. After the device is added successfully, then a message will be displayed that “The device is successfully added”.
c) Product functions
Tap one of the Thermostat icons to display the device screen to control its functions.
- Auto Mode: In Auto mode the time schedule modified in auto mode will be executed. For each single weekday it is possible to define 6 trigger times with different temperatures. Manual control in auto mode can be enabled with Temporary mode. See more information below.
- Manual Mode: In the manual mode the auto mode schedule is disabled, and you can control the Thermostat by manual entry in the app or with the knob.
- Vacation Mode: Ignores any temperature changes from cloud (e.g. schedules), app or manual. You need to switch to manual or auto mode in the SMART+ app to cancel the vacation mode
- Temporary Mode: With enabled Temporary Mode you can manually change the temperature settings of the auto mode and auto mode schedule will continue with next trigger time. If feature is disabled a manual change will exit auto mode and go to manual mode.
- Open Window Reminder: Is the feature active the valve will be closed for 30minutes if temperature is decreased by 1.5°C in 4.5 minutes. Moreover, the valve will open before, if temperature rises by 1.5°C in 4.5minutes or there is a change in mode or temperature in app or on the thermostat.
- Frost Protection: If turning the Thermostat off in manual mode the frost protection needs to be enabled otherwise the thermostat will not start heating, if temperature falls below 5°C.
- Low Battery Settings: Possible to set valve settings if battery drops on low level.
- Temperature Settings:
- Upper limit: Set maximum possible target temperature between 20 and 35°C.
- Calibration: Set a correction for the ambient temperature from -10 to +10°C.
- Difference: Set sensitivity of temperature regulation.
- Display Settings: To set brightness, Orientation and On-time of the display.
- Scene Settings: To set a temperature for Comfort, Eco and Anti-frost/Vacation modes, which can be also used in auto mode. Temperatures changes of the scenes will simultaneously change temperatures in auto mode, if the scenes are used there.
- Child Lock: Any manual entry on the knob will be ignored.
- Enhance Child Lock: The child lock cannot be disabled by pressing for 1.5s on the knob. Additionally pressing the set button under the cover at the display is needed to disable the child lock.
- System Settings:
- System mode: Possible to select between stepwise valve opening PID mode and On-Off mode.
- Thrust mode: Possible to select between Auto, Normal and Turbo mode for the thrust of the Thermostat.
- History: The valve opening, set and current temperature are shown there for the last 7 days
