Before pairing the SMART+ WiFi Thermostat Gen1 to the app, you need to follow the Initialization Steps from the User Manual. The Thermostat Gen1 has model number AC67039xxxx engraved on the backside.
After finalizing the steps of the hardware installation, you can do the pairing of the device to the app. You need to set the device into pairing mode by pressing the main knob for 5s until you can read “Pair” on the display. The device will be in pairing mode for 3 minutes. There is now further indication for the pairing mode on the Thermostat. There are two possible options to pair the WIFi Thermostat to the SMART+ app:
a) Auto scan mode
To connect the WiFi Thermostat, tap “+” button on the home screen page where you want to add the device, and then select “Add device”. The automatically search will start and show the available products for pairing on the screen. You can select and add the devices shown individually by tapping the “Add” button.
Alternatively, for complete integration, you can also select the “Add all” button shown at the top of the list. In the next screen, select the WiFi router with 2.4 GHz network and enter the corresponding password with which you want to connect your devices.
If you have multiple Wi-Fi routers at your home, then you can select the WiFi from “Change WiFi network” as well. After a device is added successfully, then a message will be displayed that “The device is successfully added”.
b) Manual adding mode
If you cannot find the desired device with above mentioned steps, then you can also add the device manually with “Setup guide” button mentioned at the bottom of the screen.
To do this, set the Thermostat to pairing mode if it has not already been set. Now select the device category tab “WiFi”. Then select the category “Radiator Thermostat” and then on Gen 1. After confirming the WiFi credentials, you are now requested to connect the smartphone to the hotspot (LDV SMART+-xxxx) provided by the Thermostat.
After tapping on "Connect with hotspot", the WiFi of the smartphone must be connected to the hotspot (LDV SMART+-xxxx) of the Thermostat via the WiFi settings of the smartphone, you need to confirm with the “yes” button that the connection was successful.
In the next step, a search will be carried out for that device. After the device is added successfully, then a message will be displayed that “The device is successfully added”.
c) Product functions
Tap one of the Thermostat icons to display the device screen to control its functions.
- Auto Mode: In Auto mode the time schedule modified in auto mode will be executed. Manual changes in the app or on the knob are possible to adjust the temperature. Please note that change by third party systems like Google Home and Amazon Alexa can be done just in the Manual mode
- Manual Mode: In the manual mode the auto mode schedule is disabled, and you can control the Thermostat by manual entry in the app or with the knob. In manual mode you are able to control the Thermostat by third party systems like Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can use routines to control the thermostat based on time schedule or other sensors.
- Vacation Mode: Ignores any changes from cloud, app or manual
- Mood: To set a static mood to define a certain temperature
- Open Window Reminder: If temperature is decreased to the set temperature there will be a reminder about open window for the set time
- Drift Temperature: Set a correction for the ambient temperature from -5.5°C to +5.5°C. Negative value will lower the ambient temperature by the set amount
- Child Lock: Any manual entry on the knob will be ignored
