LEDVANCE will be showcasing its new product families for shop lighting at Light + Building, the world's leading trade fair for lighting and building systems, in Frankfurt from March 18 to 23. At booth B10 in Hall 2.0 the company is presenting a broad range of state-of-the-art LED luminaires and lamps covering a wide variety of requirements for lighting in retail outlets – from accent lighting in small boutiques to uniform shelf lighting in large supermarkets. The new products will be available from wholesalers from the summer of 2018.
With its consequent move into the shop lighting segment, LEDVANCE is continuing its success story that began with Light + Building 2016 and has since taken the company to its prominent position among the top ten European providers of LED luminaires.
Shop lighting places particularly high demands on realistic color rendering, attractive displays and high flexibility. The main function of the lighting system in boutiques is to provide accent lighting and be flexible enough to accommodate ever changing displays. In supermarkets on the other hand, the focus is on achieving illumination that is as uniform as possible and also to illuminate the shelves where products are displayed. Thus, luminaires are needed that offer options for different beam angles. In all cases, it is important to prevent glare. For cost reasons there is also great demand for low-maintenance energy-efficient lighting that can be installed in as little time as possible.
Minimalist track-mounted spotlights for accent lighting
Tracklight Spot from LEDVANCE is an extremely compact family of spotlights for the widely used three-phase power rails. The specially developed control gear is accommodated in the slim luminaire housing. The minimalist styling and appearance of the spotlights are in keeping with LEDVANCE’s “Scale” design language. Three different housing sizes have been developed to keep the 25, 35 and 55 W spotlights as small as possible and meet the demands of many architects and shop fitters for small inconspicuous luminaires. The Tracklight Spot products can be tilted and swiveled to highlight any object in the room. Thanks to the bayonet connection, the standard 24 degree reflector can be easily replaced with a reflector with a 15 or 38 degree beam angle to achieve different effects. The aluminum reflector and the black ring provide excellent anti-glare properties (UGR<16). Color rendering is excellent at CRI>90. The high-quality die-cast aluminum housing is available in matt white, matt black or concrete gray.
Flexible Trunking lighting system for rapid installation
The new TruSys rail system offers uniform illumination for merchandise and walkways in large retail outlets with long shelf runs such as supermarkets and discount stores. This versatile Trunking lighting system consists of rails and extremely flat linear luminaires that can be quickly and easily clicked into position – as continuous or intermittent strips. Energy efficiency is high at 135 lumen per watt. These high-quality luminaires are characterized not only by their exclusive design but also by their lightweight anodized aluminum housing for ease of installation. They can be mounted directly on the ceiling or suspended from cables or chains. Four different lens versions are available for optimum emission characteristics – double asymmetric for illuminating two shelves, wallwasher for shelving on one side, wide beam for wide-area illumination in low-ceiling spaces and narrow beam for high ceilings.
Downlights for high-quality basic illumination
The new Downlight Comfort luminaires with their very good anti-glare properties (UGR<19) are particularly suitable for basic illumination in retail areas of any size. The installer can select the desired light color of 3000, 4000 or 5700 K by means of a small slide switch. This reduces the level of complexity for everyone involved – wholesalers for example need keep only one product in stock. A quick-connect terminal also saves time during installation. Its IP54 rating means that Downlight Comfort can be used in damp locations such as bathrooms or outdoors in canopied entrance areas.
Recessed spotlights for accent lighting and general illumination
The new Spot Vario is a recessed spotlight that can be used as a classic downlight (with the luminaire head completely recessed) or as a wallwasher (with the luminaire head extended). The spotlight shares the same design language as other downlights and spotlights in the LEDVANCE range so they can all be used in combination. Like the Tracklight Spot, it has a black anti-glare ring. Spot Vario is easy to install because it is connected to an external driver with a bayonet connection. The luminaire and the ECG can therefore be easily separated to allow DALI or DIM devices to be connected.
The new Spot Multi, a versatile cassette spotlight, has cardan joints for the luminaire heads so they can be adjusted in any direction to provide a high degree of flexibility in illuminating a room whenever the layouts are changed. This is a particularly important consideration for fashion boutiques, for example, where a single luminaire has to provide both background illumination and flexible accent lighting. The driver is easily replaced for even greater ease of use.
LED retrofits – perfect replacements for conventional lamps
With its broad portfolio of LED retrofits LEDVANCE can offer users excellent options for existing luminaires. The new AR111 reflector lamps and the PAR16 and MR16 lamps in high and low-voltage versions now have excellent color rendering (CRI 97), making them perfect replacements for halogen lamps. The same also applies to the LED lamps in Classic A, Classic B and Classic P designs. With the exception of AR111, all the lamp bulbs are made of glass.
All luminaires and lamps from LEDVANCE will be listed in Relux and Dialux planning software by the time of the market launch in the summer.
It is also important to note that for its LED luminaires marketed for lighting professionals via wholesalers LEDVANCE is exclusively using the LEDVANCE brand also at product level. The brand name of OSRAM continues to appear on its LED lamps, however.
