Edition 1906. LEDVANCE’s modern classic
At Light + Building the LED lighting company from Garching near Munich is showcasing its significantly extended range in a trendy vintage look
With the OSRAM Edition 1906, LEDVANCE has demonstrated a feel for trends, combining the look from the early days of electrical light with modern technology and high-quality materials. At Light + Building 2018 the LED lighting company is now greatly extending its portfolio of vintage lighting. Offering 16 new types, the number of available LED lamps alone has been increased fivefold.
The most notable additions in the Edition 1906 world are the decorative shades which can be combined with existing luminaires. Anyone who has an Edition 1906 “PenduLum” luminaire now has a variety of options thanks to four new lampshades. They are all made from aluminum sheet with a satin matt surface. The slim “Cup” shade (140 mm), the flat wide “Radar” (320 mm) and the tapered “Cone” (219 mm) are black on the outside and either white or gold on the inside. The “Cage” shade with a diameter of 239 millimeters is available either completely in black or gold.
Oversized lamps with spiral filaments
With the 16 new LED filament lamps, LEDVANCE is continuing the tradition of Edition 1906 where the lamp itself is a real eye-catcher. The oversized lamps are particularly striking, featuring a length of almost 30 centimeters, a diameter of 20 centimeters and a spiral LED filament. The slightly smaller new models are true design pieces, standing out for their double helix filament when they are either on or off. Still boasting a respectable 178 millimeters in length and 125 millimeters in diameter as a “Globe” and 140 by 64 millimeters as an “Edison”, they can also be attractively combined with the Cage shade.
Special shapes for special applications
The seven lamps in special shapes with E27 bases will also hit the market with similar dimensions. They appear as a cut gemstone, and in the shape of a star or heart. And by popular demand, 1906 lamps will also be available with an E14 base for the first time this summer. While their glass is in the usual golden hue, the “Globe Mirror Black” lamp is made of clear glass and finished with a matt black cap. Paired with the Radar and Cone shades, this lamp is extremely chic for indirect lighting. And it also turns the brand-new “Table” luminaire from this edition into a design object.
For the first time, LEDVANCE will also launch luminaires for PAR16 lamps with a GU10 base – all in the proven Edition 1906 design language and the same high-quality materials. It will be available as a pendant luminaire, and as a single or double-lamp luminaire with a swivel bracket.
Edition 1906 wall luminaires will also hit stores from June this year.
